Ali ‘Mr. Consistency’ Merali is the only player in GNBL history to finish in the GN PTS Top 10 in all 4 years of the league existence. That consistency finally earned him the recognition of his peers with a Most Improved Award for the 24/25 season. Ali continues to be a great teammate, leader and overall player who does all the things that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet, but maybe that’s his next step. Time to make a direct impact on the scoreboard. Ali needs to expand his shot, even if it’s from 5-10 feet out, and improve his finishing at the rim to take the next step. We know he will be a lock for the top 10 in Year 5, but can he break into the top 3 for the first time?
PLAYER DESCRIPTION
Ali does all the things that don’t show up on the stat sheet. Pin point passing from the high post, picks that stop defenders in their tracks, early defensive rotations to fill gaps and a constant motor that takes no plays off. It takes a keen eye to appreciate the impact Ali has on both end of the court.
